That old saying ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’…
That happened last night!
Every Friday, I get home from work and it’s like the whole week catches up on me.
Ever felt that?
Yet, when you’re competing or following a diet, the weekend is just an extension of the last 5 days.
So, food still needs to be cooked for the day ahead.
This is where preparation really saves your arse!!
I made our dinner and sat down thinking, damn I got to do that all again..
Then I remembered the pre cooked chicken in the fridge.. Result!
Pick a day in the week that you have enough time, to spend extra time over the hob and get on top of things.
This normally works on the weekend for me.
I would prepare 3 days worth of the bulk of the meals, so the protein, for example.
Oven bake as many chicken or turkey breasts that you need for the days ahead.
Using the oven, allows you more time to really season the meat and cook to perfection as you don’t need to rush!
As for your carbs, I use a similar process…
I buy frozen veg because it keeps longer and things like potatoes or rice can be boiled in bulk, stored in the fridge and added as and when.
I am due to make a video blog on this process, giving you visual tips as to how I stay ahead and the products I use.. Keep posted!!
For now, just remember eating clean doesn’t have to be taxing, so get ahead if yourselves and the working week will become a lot easier!
